Lead Business Analyst – Participating as a lead business analyst on specific projects involving all aspects of business customers’ and IT teams’ interaction from the Initiation and Scoping phases through the Requirements and Solution Design phases (working with BAs and developers), through to the testing (SIT, BAT) and implementation stages.

Responsibilities include working closely with the business team to help define their requirements, and with numerous application-specific Business Analysts to help them gather and document their application’s requirements details, and to provide a project-level consolidated Business Requirements Definition (BRD) that is presented before the Senior Leadership Team and sponsoring executives.

• Key responsibilities of the Lead BA include assisting the Project Manager in coordinating the creation and management of the deliverables for the project with a primary focus on artifacts that are the responsibility of the Business Analysts (Lead BA and application-specific BAs). The Lead BA coordinates all meetings and workshops that are needed to help determine the business requirements and the subsequent impacts to the various systems/applications. Project-level deliverables such as context diagrams, Business Requirement Definition documentation that combines the deliverables from the various application BAs, and similar artifacts are the responsibility of the Lead BA.

• Added responsibilities include supporting the business customers during requirements gathering, their Organizational Impact Assessment (OIA) meetings, and their development of process documentation guides that are used as business aides for the new/enhanced application functionality and new/enhanced business product offerings.
 

- Business Analyst – Participated as a business analyst on a specific project involving all aspects of interaction with business customers, developers, and the IT team helping to formalize new requirements for a new business system that is being implemented in phases.

• Responsibilities included working closely with the business team to determine their requirements for the latest phase of the project that involves implementing a new business application. And, my responsibilities included extensive work with numerous business work streams to help determine and document the new requirements and enhancements needed for the next phase of the application rollout. In addition, my responsibilities included the reviewing requirements that were previously documented and subsequently included in the pilot release of the application.
• From basic business requirements documentation to the writing of Use Cases, my role was to assist both the business teams and the technology teams in properly documenting and understanding the latest requirements to be included in the future phases of the project.
• My responsibilities included extensive testing of code changes and enhancements; working with the development and QA teams to help finalize application changes in preparation for the pilot release of the new application to the business. And, my responsibilities included working with the technical and business teams during User Acceptance Testing of the latest pilot phase release of the application. Lastly, I helped with supporting the initial pilot team users during their training and subsequent initial use of the application.

- Lead/Senior Business Analyst assignment with a large insurance company, group benefits division,  included working with the business team responsible for evaluating an enhancement/upgrade to an existing business application and the impact the upgrade would have on the business. The position required participation in Business Process Reengineering sessions, and Organization Impact Analysis sessions, and assisting the business team in their efforts to analyze and document their findings.

• Business Analyst responsibilities included the evaluation of existing Use Cases (baseline versions of the existing business application being upgraded/enhanced) in preparation for new business requirements sessions and Use Case creation.

• Assignment included a thread of twenty plus Use Cases to be completed by the end of the year. As on previous consulting assignments, the position included responsibility for interpreting business needs and translating them into application requirements and Use Case functionality, and working with technical and programming teams to aid them in providing conversion, design, QA/testing, and implementation guides based on the foundation Use Cases created for the project. NOTE: The project was put on hold for a period of time and the consulting position was eliminated. References are available.

Manager, Interactive Marketing Operations for an Internet spin-off company of Cendant Corporation. My primary job responsibility was managing two analysts in day-to-day production of business reports, centered on membership and transactional sales for Netmarket Group's multiple web sites (Netmarket.com, privacyguard.com, autovantage.com, travelersadvantage.com, hagglezone.com, and fareagent.com). Our team was responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports based in Excel, Access and Brio.

Participate in all business reporting efforts, working directly with the software development team, internal departments, and business partners, helping to define reporting needs, analyzing their requirements, creating formal requests for software development efforts, and implementing and scheduling all new reports.

Netmarket Group was merged back into Cendant's Cendant Direct Marketing division, with many employees including myself, being released.

Business Analyst, Consultant (Cendant Corp) - involved with the team responsible for evaluating, putting together a pilot test, and selecting a corporate Customer Relationship Management campaign management and reporting tool. Use Cases, gap analysis, and business requirements gathering were focal points of my involvement with the project.

PCNet, Inc. – Trumbull, CT                                                                         Oct. 97 to Oct. 99

National Account Manager for a dynamic $60M regional network and systems integrator. This position is an active position managed in conjunction with E-Commerce Development responsibilities. Account management responsibilities included complete computer, server, and non-stop mainframe sales and service to large corporate clients and nationally to the Federal Reserve Banks and SBC Corporation.

Management of E-Commerce Development for a software development subsidiary (ViewTek) responsible for generating new business, managing development staff, and client services.  Consulting and development efforts were centered on Microsoft Site Server Commerce Edition, SQL and modern development packages used in the creation of web sites. Efforts encompassed recommending search engine submittal solutions, traffic analysis services and providing site-hosting services. Web site designs ranged from the basic 3 to 5 page sites to the business-to-business e-Commerce solutions.

Reuben H. Donnelley – Raleigh, NC                                                        Apr. 96 to Oct. 97

Business Support Center Team Leader for the yellow pages publisher's company-wide help desk. Management responsibilities included managing the day-to-day operations with a team of 12 individuals responsible for the company's network and mainframe security and first-line support (end users) to desktop, network, printers and PBX telephone systems. Level I support and trouble call dispatch to level II & Level III. Successfully lowered the abandon rate to below 2% and increased the first-call resolution rate and accuracy of trouble logging, resolution, and dispatch to the level II and III teams.

Technical Services Team Leader responsible for day-to-day internal customer support on newly developed Oracle-based application software for the yellow pages industry, as well as all hardware, software, network and mainframe security, front-line network and mini-computer interface support at the new publishing center. I managed a team of 4 to 5 Level II technicians working hand-in-hand with them to support the 400 end users at the site. Successfully managed the new building workstation, laptop, server, and network rollout and maintained a high uptime percentage throughout our support effort (which included nights, weekends and holidays).

Project Leader - Responsibilities included responsibility for the project management and hands-on involvement in a 50-week major account outsourcing support effort for R. H. Donnelley.  Supervised and implemented a desktop upgrade and rollout project for Sales, Marketing, and Publishing Operations.

Account Management, Sales - responsible for management of PCNet sales teams' efforts in selling computer equipment and services to Fortune 500 clients

Client Services Manager - Responsibilities included all consulting and training needs of the company's customers (PC and Macintosh users). Formal training classes were prepared and conducted at the store, and one-on-one and group training was conducted at customer locations. These typically included consulting sessions and initial computer selection, installation, and initial hands-on training for the client.

Retail Sales Manager – Responsible for directing a team of PC & MAC sales representatives in showroom, selling PCs and software to general public. Customer satisfaction and sales increased along with team performance. Performed sales directly with customers as well as lead the team.

Micro Warehouse, Inc., Norwalk, CT                                                                             1989 - 1992

- Solidified Marketing Operations.

- Created a new Marketing Analysis Department to provide more extensive statistical analysis and reporting for MicroWarehouse and MacWarehouse divisions.

- Re-engineered the purchasing/inventory control operations area of PC Division and implemented corrective restructuring.

- Facilitated a major top-down reorganization at company's fulfillment center in New Jersey. Opened lines of communication between departments within the center as well as between the center and corporate headquarters. Reported directly to President.

- Orchestrated the execution of a multi-faceted marketing effectiveness plan, which improved division monthly sales from 5 to 7 digit figures in a 10-month period. Position included selection of products and vendors for PC-related catalog, supporting & training the in-bound telemarketing team in handling inquiries on the products in the catalog, and worked with the technical support team to provide the initial support structure and management team to support the newly started PC division and catalog sales.
